Although settlement in
the area dates from the 1840's The Rowland Flat (sometimes
Rowlands Flat) settlement was surveyed and established in the
mid 1850's. The area formed a portion of the 27th Special
Survey of Joseph Gilbert and Edward Rowlands.
The Triniity
Lutheran church was opened in 1867. A new church was built
in 1956.
