MR J GIERSCH
The death occurred at Wangaratta
(Vic.) on Monday of Mr. Jack
Giersch, at the age of 62 years. The
deceased was a sou of Mrs. Franke,
Henty, and brother of Sister Giersch
and Mr. H. G!ersch, of Henty. He
leaves a wife and a family of four.
One son, Stan, is with the A.I.F.
abroad, and Cecil is on the staff of
the Bank of N.S.W. at Dandenong.
Mrs. H. Fraser, Corowa, and Miss
Leila Giersch, Echuca, are sisters.
The deceased; who was an engineer
by trade, was for a number of years
in charge of a dredge at Bright (Vic),
and recently was engine-driver at
W. and T. Smth's flourmills, Wan-
garata.
Burial took plae. in the Church of
England portion of the Wangaratta
cemetery on Tuesday, at 2 p.m.

MR. J. GIERSCH
The death occurred, at the Wan-
garatta (V.) Community Hospital on
Monday following a very brief illness
of Mr. John Glersch, of Wangaratta,
at the age of 62 years. Mr. Giersch
spent his 62nd birthday as the guest
of his sister and mother, Sister E.
Glersch and Mrs. Franke, at Henty,
last week and became ill. Sister Glersch
motored him back to Wangaratta,
where he was admitted to hospital and
died only four days after arrival. He
was born at Tanunda (S.A.) and was
the second son of the late Charles
Glersch and of Mrs. Franke, Henty.
He spent his early years in South Aus-
tralia, afterwards residing In the
Henty and Yerong Creek districts.
Later he lived in Melbourne, Corowa
and Bright (V.), where he was the
master of a dredge. Of later years
he had been engineer at the Wangar-
atta flour mills. He is survived by his
wife, two sons, Stan (with the A.I.F.
abroad) and Cecil, of Dandenong (V.);
two daughters, Mrs. H. Fraser, of
Corowa, and Miss Leila Glersch, of
Echuca (V.); his mother (Mrs. Franke)
one sister, Sister E. Glersch, of Henty;
and three brothers, Messrs. Harry
Giersch (Henty), and Phil Giersch
(Tumbarumba), and Ben Giersch
(Corowa). The funeral took place on
Tuesday, moving to the Anglican por-
tion of the Wangaratta cemetery, the
Canon of Wangaratta officiating. Mr.
Glersch was a prominent Mason and a
Masonic service was conducted at the
graveside by the Worshipful Master
and brethren of the Wangaratta Lodge.
The carriers were the three brothers
and son-in-law, Mr. H. Fraser.
