The HG Wappaus of 304 tons. Under the command of captain Peterson the HG
Wappaus departed Hamburg on 29 October 1848
stopped at Rio de Janiro The ship was unable to proceed
to Adelide because of a severe storm and after stopping
in Portland arrived in Port Phillip (Melbourne) on 7
March 1849 where many of the passengers
disembarked. The HG Wappaus arrived in
Port Adelaide on 31 March 1849. |
