Mr. J. T. G. Henschke
Mr J. T. G. Henschke, who died at
Julia last week, was born at Krondorf,
near Tanunda, in 1854. He married
Miss Maria Elisabeth Heinrich, of Ta-
nunda, in 1880. Until 1906 he farmed
at Peep Hill, near Eudunda. In that
year he took up land at Julia, where
he had resided since. He was an
earnest, active churchman, being suc-
cessively lay reader in Eudunda, Peep
Hill, and Julia congregations for 40
years, and helped to build three
churches. He began to fail about two
years ago, and eventually became bed-
ridden, being nursed by his son and
daughter-in-law. Pastor E. Proeve
officiated at the graveside and memo-
rial service. The deceased left three
sons, a daughter, and 12 grandchil-
dren. His wife, and one son and
daughter, predeceased him.
