HAHNDORF, October 20 - An old colo-
nist Mrs Johanne Juliane Menzel, died this
morning. Mrs Menzel (nee Blesing) was
born in Germany in 1837 and came to South
Australia in 1841. In 1855 she was married
to Mr Wilhelm Menzel, of Lyndoch, where
she resided until 3 1/2 years ago, when she
made Hahndorf her home. Mr Menzel
died in 1899. The deceased left four sons,
five daughters, and 35 grandchildren.
