3563DEATH OF PIONEER
FARMER OF SEDAN
The death occurred this week of Mr.
Johann Rudolph Kraehenbuehl, aged
80, at the residence of his daughter,
Mrs B. Sporn, at Carina (Vic.), a few
miles over the border from Pinnaroo.
He was born in Berne, Switzerland,
and came to Australia when 19. He
was a pioneer farmer of Sedan. In
1908 he went to Pinnaroo and opened
the first barber's shop. His wife pre-
deceased him.
Mr. Kraehenbuehl leaves four sons
and six daughters, as follow: — Messrs.
G. J. H. Kraehenbuehl (Murrayville,
Vic.), J. A., P. A., and C. W. Kraehen-
buehl, and Mrs. Parker, of Angaston.
Mrs. Ahrns and Mrs. A. Witte, of Ade-
laide; Mrs. Jones, of Mount Pleasant,
Mrs. B. Sporn, of Carina, and Mrs.
W. Sporn, of Mulcra, in the Murray-
ville district. There are 43 grandchil-
dren and four great-grandchildren.
