The Advertiser (Adelaide, SA : 1889 - 1931) Saturday 14 August 1926
38339Mr. Paul Theodore Matthias, whose
death was announced in "The Advertiser"
on Wednesday, was well known through-
out the mid-north. He was born at Ma-
noora, 46 years ago, and was for a long
period a resident of Kapunda, being in the
employ of Mesas. Clutterbuck Brothers as
a machinery expert. He moved to Ade-
laide, and later to Myponga, where his
health began to fail, and thinking the cli-
mate was against him, left the district to
reside at Salisbury. However, he had
hardly settled down when he became
seriously ill, and returned to Kapunda,
where he was an inmate of the local hos-
pital. Little hope was held out for his
recovery, and a few months ago he took
up his residence with his father-in-law,
Mr. Arnold, of Greenock, at which place
he died. He left a widow and three young
children. His father is also living, besides
four brothers and three sisters, namely:—
Messrs. William (his twin, Woodvflle),
Alfred (Giles Corner), Edward (Kapunda),
and Arthur Matthias (Angaston; Mes-
F. H. Beneke (Kapunda), G. Reidel (Ren-
mark), and E. Cain (Richmond).
