Deep regret was manifested herelast Tuesday, when it became knownthat Johann Friedrich Pfeiffer, acolonist of 62 years standing and a,farmer at Puntapin in this districtfor the past 11 years, had died sud-denly that day, whilst at work at"Cononalling," his son's farm,where he was found dead by MrJames.The funeral took place on thefollowing day, deceased being buriedin the first grave in the portion ofthe Wagin cemetery alloted to theLutherans..The Rev. Mr Walters, ofAlbany, officiated at the graveside.The chief mourners were:—Mr andMrs F. A. Kunzel, Mrs and Mrs A..Gerricke, Mr and Mrs H. Kramer,daughters and sons-in-law, Mr F. A.Pfeiffer, Mr G. A, Pfeiffer, and Mr J,T. Pfeiffer, jun., sons; Masters E.Kunzel, H. and L. Gerricke, grand-,sons; Mrs W. Retallack, grand-daughter.The pall-bearers were:—Messrs J. E. Cowcher, W, Pollard,A. Gravin, C. Burgan, Painter, andC. Lutz, the funeral arrangementsbeing carried out by MessrsMorris and Parkes.Deceased was 65 years of age,and leaves seven grown-up children—three sons and four daughters, allof whom are residing in this dis-.trict. The greatest sympathy is feltfor them in their sad bereavement.
