Mr. C. F. AUFDERHEIDE
The death of Mr. C. F. Aufderheide,
of Lobethal, which took place at his
residence Main St., Lobethal, recently,
has removed one of the town's most
respected and valued citizens. During
his long residence in Lobethal the de
ceased gentleman was prominent in
every effort made for the town's ad
vancement. Mr. Aufderheide was a
prominent official of the Textile Wor
kers' Union, filling many offices, in
cluding a term as Australasian presi
dent. His duties in this capacity led
to many Interstate visits. He was
for many years connected with the old
Lobethal Vigilance committee and was
for some time secretary of that body.
Later he has been a leading member
of the Lobethal Community Progress
Association. He was a member of
the Presbyterian Church and held of-
fice in that church until recently. The
possessor of a very pleasing voice he
was a valued member of the choir and
also was a soloist in the Lobethal
Harmony Club. His services will be
greatly missed in musical circles. His
remains were laid to rest in the Lobe-
thal cemetery and the service was
conducted by Pastor Erskine, an old
friend of the deceased family. The
many beautiful wreaths and floral tri-
butes and the large concourse of
mourners at the graveside bore elo-
quent testimony to his popularity. He
leaves a widow and three sons, Mes
srs. Lloyd (Tas.), Darcy and Welyn.
A daughter, Beryl, predeceased him.
