There are several grandchildrenand three great grandchildren. The community in general and Gawler West Methodist circuit in particular has been moved by the tragicallysudden death of the Rev. FrankEvans, who was killed in a collisionon the Adelaide Hills. Landing fromhis ship in Port Pirie penniless a fewbrief years ago, this young Englishman sought work at the smelters butwas under age. He tramped towardAdelaide and on the way was given alift on a motorbike. The owner tookto the likeable lad and offered him a£1 note. Frank Evans would onlyaccept it as a loan, and the first payhe earned saw the £1 posted to thisnew friend. He won his way upward, distinguished himself at Wesley College, and on the death of the Rev.Ray Rooney was selected to fill thegap at Gawler West, till Conferencemet. The Conference gave him Ka-roonda as a first appointment. He hadonly fairly begun here when the un-happy accident cut short his promisingministry. On the suggestion of theRev. D. T.
