MRS. MARY KILSBY.
In our last issue we recordcd the
death of one of our oldest residents in
the person of Mrs. Mary Kilsby, relict
of the late Mr. William Kilsby. The
deceased, who was nearly 88 years of
age, was born in Alva, Stirling, Scot-
land, and came to Australia in the ship
Fairfield with her parents, the late
Mr. and Mrs.
Robert Thomson. The
family landed in Adelaide on December
24, 1840. In the year 1853 she was
married to Mr. Kilsby, and in 1858
they came to
Mount Gambier, where
they took, up land in
Mount GambierEast, and she has resided on the farm
ever since. The late Mrs. Kilsby had
a family of twelve - six sons and six
daughters - eleven of whom are living.
The sons are Messrs.
Robert J. Glen -
more, River Murray; W. H. and H.
W.,
Mount Gambier: A.J. and J. A.
W., Kalangadoo ; and W. E. Queens
land. The daughters are Mesdames
A. C. Chambers,
Mount Gambler, and
A. Kilsby, New Zealand, who, is at
present residing at
Mount Gambier ;
and the Misses Emily, Edith, and
Millie Kilsby. The late Mrs. Jen-
nings: Boyce, Kalangadoo, was also a
daughter. There are also a large
number of grandchildren, and several
great grandchildren. The funeral took
place on Tuesday. The Rev. Jas. Cully,
B.A., officiated at the graveside, and
Mr. W. Pearce carried out the funeral
arrangements.
