EDWARDS.— On the 4th June, at 47,
Manton-street, Hindmarsh, Thomas George
Edwards, beloved husband of the late A. E.
M. Edwards, aged 80 years. Peacefully
sleeping.

OBITUARY
The death occurred on Wednesday,
at the age of 80 years, of Mr. Thomas
George Edwards, of Manton-street
Hindmarsh. Mr. Edwards, who was
born at Underdale, found responsibility
thrown on his shoulders at an  
early age, owing to the death of his
father. When 13 be began work cart-
ing wood by means of a bullock team.
For the greater part of his life he was
employed as a pit sawyer and farm
worker, his occupation necessitating a
great deal of travelling, and he was
well known in most of the townships
in the lower half of the State. In 1874
he married Miss Matilda Schubert, of
Angas Park, near Angaston. For many
years he lived at Mannum, but in 1889
he purchased a home at Thebarton,
where Mrs. Edwards lived until her
death in 1917. Mr. Edwards was for 37
years a member of the Hindmarsh
Christian Church. He leaves two sons
—Messrs. M. S. Edwards (Kooringa)
and S. Edwards (Hindmarsh)—and
seven daughters - Mesdames D. Hay-
thorpe (Mannum). W. Clements
(Chicago), R. Wyld (Mornington), L.
H. Foote (New Hindmarsh), J. May
(Hindmarsh), J. A. May (Hindmarsh)
and E. Pfennig (Wilgena).
