62378Mrs. Just, who died recently at Peter-
borough, was born in Germany in
1842, and arrived in Australia with her
parents when three years old, so that she
was a colonist of over 81 years. Her
parents entered into farming pursuits
near Gawler. When still young she mar-
ried Mr. Heinrich Just, a farmer, at
Bethel, where eleven children were born.
Twenty-two years ago her husband died,
and for twenty years she lived with her
daughter, Mrs. R. Betty, Parnaroo. She
left six daughters—Mrs. Hennig, James-
town; Mrs. Meyers, Dawson; Mrs. Roes-
ner, Crafers; Mrs. Gruhl, Spalding; Mrs.
Betty, Parnaroo; and Mrs. Poole, Hawker;
and one son, Mr. A. T. Just, the well
known pastoralist.
