Mr. Alf Kiefel, eldest son of Mr. and
Mrs. R. Kiefel. of Natimuk, who had
been ailing off and on for many years,
dIed at Cairns, Queensland, on Monday
last vwek from malaria. He first went
to Cairns many years ago, but since
then had conducted an hotel near Gee-
long and a hairdressing business at
Lanefield. About a year ago he re-
turned to Cairns. In 1917 he married
Miss Alice Hyde, and there were four
children—three boys and a girl. He
had made a success of his business
enterprises, and his untimely death—
he was only 36 years of age—is deplor-
ed, and deep sympathy is felt for his
wife, family and relatives.
