Guard Killed at Bordertown. \
Ernst Herbert Obst, 35, guard of a
goods train which left Tailem Bend
| on Friday morning, was killed in Bordertown
railway yard that day. Obst
was seen by Fireman C. J. Rayson
talking to the Bordertawn stationmaster
(Mr. J. Tippett) at 9.15 a.m. Noibody
saw the accident. The dead
man was found between the rails on
the main line. It is thought that,
while coupling or uncoupling the
trucks, he slipped, and was rolled
along by the moving train for 18 feet.
His right hand was crushed, and his j
head cut off. The body was taken to
Tailem Bend. Obst was married, but
had no children. Detective Nicholls,
