Mr. John Games Carrison
Mr. John Games Carrison, who
died on Friday, May 26,- after an
illness extending over four weeks,
was a son of the late Mr. and
Mrs. Adam Carrison, and he was
born at Port Fairy on March 19,
1859. He was 85 years of age.
On July 27, 1881 he was mar-
ried at Port MacDonnell to Miss
Elizabeth Taylor, who pre-de-
ceased him. They had one son,
Mr. W. A. Carrison, Mt. Schank.
On November 14, 1918, he married
Miss Amy I. Robinson, Sutton-.
town. They had a family of five ,
three sons and two daughters.
The sons are Mr. C. E. Carrison,
Allendale; Mr. D. G. Carrison and
Mr. Edward John Carrison, Port
MacDonnell. The daughters are
Mrs. "Joker" Scott (Amy May),
and Mrs. A. G. Hosking (Sylvia
Margaret). He had five brothers
— Robert, William, Walter, David,
and George, all of whom pre-
deceased him. His two sisters,
Mrs. Jas. McKinnon (Annie) and
Mrs. William Janeway (Ada) also
pre-deceased him.
For several years he worked on
Mount Schank while Mr. R. ,M.
Gardiner was the lessee. When
the late Mr. W. J. T. Clarke re
possessed the property he went
to work for Mr. E. J. French as
a boat hand. He also did 'a good
deal of horse breaking; He was
a member of the Port MacDon-
nell lifeboat crew, and he was
awarded a medal for the part
he took in saving the crew of a
French barque.
He was a member of the Church
of England. His remains were
interred in the Port MacDonnell
Cemetery on May 28. Arch
deacon J. W. Clarke conducted
the service at the grave, and Mr.
W. Pearce carried out, the fun-
eral arrangements.
