of his son, E. A. Kies, Lyndoch, Reinhold,
beloved husband of the late Elizabeth Kies,
and loving father of Emma, Will, Edwin, Rein-
hold, and Norman. Aged 76 years. Peace-

Mr.
Reinhold Kies. an old resident of Lyn-
doch died on July 6, at the home of his son,
Mr. Edwin A.
Kies. Mr. Kles, who was 76.
was born at Lyndoch on April 3, 1858. Se-
veral years after leaving school his father
placed him on a farm at Yalparra station.
He stayed there for a few years and then left
for Greenock, carrying on farming there for
15 years. In 1884 he married Miss Elizabeth
Gniel. second daughter of the late Mr. and
Mrs Christian Gniel, of Concordia, near Gaw-
ler. In 1896 he went to Gawler River, and
in 1898 returned to Lyndoch. where he car-
ried on farming and gardening successfully
for about 34 years. Four sons and one
daughter survive: two sons died in infancy
and one daughter at the age of 8. Those
surviving are Mrs. U. F. Laub. Balaklava;
Messrs William, Murraminga; Edwin, Rein-
hold; and Norman
Kies. of Lyndoch; three
grandsons and four granddaughters. Two
brothers. Mr. Friedrich
Kies, of Lyndoch, and
Mr. William
Kies, of Sydney, and one Sister.
Mrs. H. Nietschke, of Tanunda, are also liv-
ing. His wife died in 1921. He was a trus-
tee or the St. John's Lutheran Church for
over 30 years, and a lay reader for many
years.
