48407MAN CHOKED AT ROWLAND'S
FLAT.
Tanunda, January 10.
At daylight on Friday it was reported
at the local police-station that a man,

Schiementz, had died at his house
during the night through being choked
while eating a sandwich.. Mounted Con-
stable Shegog made enquiries, which showed
that the deceased, aged 51, resided with
his mother near the railway bridge be-
tween Rowland's Flat and Lyndoch. Schie-
mentz called at a Mr. J. Koch’s house late
on Thursday night and asked for some
thing to eat. He was given a sandwich,
and while eating it he choked and died.
Mounted-Constable Sheeog reported the
matter to Mr. H. S. Rumball, who held an
inquest and returned the verdict— 'That
the deceased met his dfath by suffocation
through accidentally choking while eat-
