LEUNIG.—On the 30th October, at Angas-street,
Carl, dearly-beloved husband of Henrietta Leunig,
aged 70.

Mr. Carl Leunig, of Angas street, Ade-
laide, who died last week, was bom in the
Hartz Mountains, Germany, and arrived in
South Australia in 1852, just 50 years ago.
During the first half of that period he
was principally engaged in mining pursuits.
For over 12 years he was connected with the
Burra Mines, and afterwards became cap-
tain of mining properties. About 24 years
ago he joined the Adelaide Corporation
staff as gardener in connection with the
public squares, and this position he occu-
pied for 22 years, retiring about two years
ago. During the past year he and others
were interested in mining at Kanmantoo,
end in this connection he hopefully labour-
ed until within a week of his death. The
deceased was in his seventy-first year. He
Las left a widow, two sons, and seven daugh
ters.
