DEATH OF MR.
JAMIESON STEEL

The death occurred yesterday
of Mr. Jamieson Steel, of Bertha  
Street, at the age of 94 years.
The late Mr. Steel, who was
born at Balhannah in 1857, came
to Mount Gambier with his par
ents at the age of six, and lived
in the Allendale district for a
few years. At the age of 18, he
started working for Mr. W. S.
Sinclair at "Louden Hill."
where he was later employed by
the late Mr. A. B. Sinclair. He
remained as manager of the
property for almost 50 years, re-
tiring about 20 years ago.
Members of the family are
Mesdames R. Criddle (Murray
Bridge), A. Unger, B. Spehr and
C. Hay (Mount Gambier), F. C.
Caine (Portland), P. Kavanagh
(Adelaide) and P. Chester  
(Warrnambool), and Mr. Jim  
Steel, of Adelaide.  
The funeral will take place to  
tomorrow at 2 p.m.
