73735Mr. William Paddock, whose death, oc-
curred on Wednesday, was 64 years of age
at the time of his decease. He was born
at Shrewsbury, Shropshire, England, being
a son of the late Mr. Richard Paddock, and
came to South Australia in the ship Caro-
line in 1852. For many years he was a
land agent, and his knowledge of the value
of property in and around Adelaide was
largely availed of. Although he took no
prominent part in pnblic affairs Mr. Pad-
dock for some years acted on the Adelaide
School Board of Advice. He was also con-
nected with Freemasonry, and was
a prominent worker for the Pirie
street Methodist Church, being a
long time secretary of the trust.
His wife predeceased him, and he has
left one son and two daughters. His
death was due to heart trouble.
