78812Mr. William Henry Gome, who died at
Fullarton on Saturday, was 81 years of
age, and an old -resident of Gawler. He
was bom at Gillingham, Kent, England,
and arrived in Australia accompanied, by
his wife in 1853. After a short stay in
Melbourne he came to Gawler, and was
employed by the late Mr. James Harris for
37 years. He was an earnest churchman, be-
ing a warden of St. George's Church, and
he also took an interest in the musical ser-
vices of the other denominations. For
many years he was secretary to the Fores-
ters Lodge, Gawler, and held classes for
shorthand and bookkeeping. He was a
good German scholar, and was a member of
the earliest volunteers. Only one mem-
ber of his family survives him, Mrs. S.
