The late Mr. Donald Farquhar, mana-
ger of the South Australian Flour Mills
in Broke
n Hill (whose death was re-ported in the First Edition of to-day'sMiner), had gone for a trip in the steamer Rupara round Spencer's Gulf,for the benefit of his health. Duringthe first part of the trip Mr. Farquharenjoyed good health and spirits, andbetween Wallaroo and Tumby Bay hiscondition became rather serious, but onarrival in Adelaide yesterday morninghis health improved again somewhat.He, however, took a very bad turn late last night, and Dr. Bartley called in Dr. Verco for consultation. Dr. Vercodecided that an immediate operation was necessary, and Mr. Farquhar was re-moved to a private hospital, where an operation was performed. The cause of thetrouble was perforation of an ulcer inthe bowel close to the stomach. Thepatient gradually sank, and died ata quarter to 6 this morning.
