Wife
Is Alleged
ADELAIDE, Monday.
A man of 65, married only
five months, was said at
Adelaide police ' court -to-
day to have told police that
he murdered his wife, also
65, because he did not want
her to go to a card party.
Arnold Theodore Weil,
packer, of Mackinnon Parade,
Lower North Adelaide, was
charged with having murdered
his wife, Ellen Ruby Weil, at
their home.
Police Inspector O'sullivan
said that Mrs. Weil used to
play cards with her women
friends every Thursday night.
But she did not arrive on the
night of Thursday, October
14.
Next day, Mr. Brine, son
of Mrs. Weil by a former
marriage, accompanied by
Constable Munson, saw Weil
in the street. Weil ran off but
was caught a Quarter of a mile
away. ' . .
Weil, said Inspector O'sulli-
van, told them that he had
killed his wife' the previous
night with a boot last. Later,
police went to Weil's home
and found Mrs. Weil dead in
a 'bedroom.
The hearing was adjourned.
