82185MR. C. A. ORTLOFF
Mr. C. A. Ortloff, an old resident of
Kybunga, died at the residence of his
daughter, Kadina, on April 3. He was
born at Tanunda in 1851, and after
serving his apprenticeship as a black
smith at Tanunda, he spent some time
at Jamestown, Farina, Bethel, Ka-
punda, Moonta, and for many years he
followed his trade at Broken Hill. He
had been a member of the Broken Hill
Hospital Board in the early days, and
occupied many other public positions.
He married Miss Kathleen Denning, of
Jamestown, in 1875. The widow and
grown-up family, of three survive, Mrs.
Jones (Blyth), Mrs. A. Dymmott
(Kadina), and Mr. H. Ortloff (Meri
bah). Two brothers are Messrs. J.
Ortloff (Broken Hill) and W. Ortloff
Moorlands).
