MR. "LINK" TESCHNER

Mr. "Link" Tesclmer passed away
at Lock 7, where he was employed, on
Sunday evening- after an illness of
14 days. "Link", in his day, was a
good colt breaker, and a fine horse
man. For some years he was em
ployed in-various stations by Mr. Ben.
Chaftey, .who always entertained a
high opinion of his ability among
stock, both great and small. As a
bushman and tracker Mr. Teschner
was recognized as among the best.
The remains were interred in the
Renmark cemetery, the Rev. Bulbeck
conducting the burial ceremony

THE LATE "LINK" TESCHNER—
A TRIBUTE

Dear Sir,—The death of David
("Link'') Teschner, marks the pass-
ing of one of God's good men. To
the casual observer he was doubtless
merely a good horseman and bush-
man. To those, however, who were
privileged to enjoy his c!ose friend-
ship he represented a type of man-
hood whose qualities were of a rare
beauty.
Hypersensitive himself, he was in
variably kind, sympathetic and re-
gardful of the feelings of others.
Possessing a naturally keen wit and
strong sense of humor he was ever
careful not to wound, but to laugh
with rather than at people. In con-
tact with sickness or sorrow he had
ineffable gentleness, and his attitude
to all things weak or suffering was
that of kindly protectiveness, so that
he was beloved of little children and
animals. His faults were superfi-
cial. his greatest failings the result of
an overstrung nervous system and in
different health caused by numerous
accidents and severe shocks encount-
ered during years of strenuous work as
a horse-breaker and stockman.
He is gone, but in the hearts of those
who knew and loved him best, his in-
fluence will live on.
And now. the last Great Scorer
Has written 'gainst his name
'Twill not be that he lost or won
But that he played the game".
