85021Mr. Carl August Friedrich Wilhelm
Stollberg, 88, who died at Freeling on
January 4, was born in Germany on
July 1, 1851. About 62 years ago the
family came to Australia. They first
lived at Bethel, then Point Pass,
Eudunda, Stockwell, and Freeling, where
Mr. Stollberg lived for 57 years. His
wife died about 14 years ago. Mr. Stoll-
berg worked at a chaff mill at Freeling
for a number of years, and then started
a grocery and drapery business which
he conducted for about 19 years. He
was married in 1876 to Miss F. Maulitz.
He was a staunch member of the St.
Petri Lutheran Church, and was a lay
reader for many years. There are
three daughters—Mesdames. F. C.
Frahm (Freeling), G. Steinert (Free-
ling), and J. Powell (Adelaide).
