THE LATE MR. JAMES EINTOUL.

The funeral of the late Mr. James
Rinloul, for many years manager of
Messrs. Millars' Timber and Trading Co
Claremont, took pl;toe on Friday after
noon, December 19 th, and was largely
attended. The deceased, who was in his
(64th year, was born at Bendigo, Victoria,
and during his 20 years residence
in the Claremont district, he had' made
many friends and was most popular with
all classes. Mr. Rintoul was formerly
a member of the North Fremantle
Lodge, and later the Claremonit Lodg
of the United Ancient Order of Druids
in which Order he took a keen interest
being ait one time Past District Presi
dent. He was also a Brother of the
Tarbolton Lodge, S.C., of Freemasons
and a member of the Claremont Horti
cultural SocieHy. He leaves one daughter,
his wife having pre-deceascd him by ten
years. The funeral cortege moved from
the residence of Mrs. E. Graham, "Utan
aya," Albert-street, Claremont, and proceeded
to the Karrakatta Cemetery
where the remains were interred in the
Wesleyan portion. The Rev. A. W
Brsay officiated at the graveside. The
chief mourners were:—Miss Una G. Rin-
toul (daughter), and Messrs. G. H. Jacksson
and A. L. Burgess. The pall
bearers were:—Wor. Bros. J. Bell
R.W.M., and A. L. Smith, S.W., of Tar
bolton Lodge, S.C., Bros. H. F. Hinklev
C. H. Beck, of Claremonit Lodge, TJ.A
O.D., and Messrs. J. Morris and J. Cole
(Millars' T. and T. Co.), and E. Hodgson,
and A. C- Ferris. The coffin-bear-
ers were:—Bros. W. H. Morey, H. A1
dis, W. Opie, W. Edmed (of Claremont
Lodge, U-A.O.D.). Amongst those pre
sent were:—Messrs. C. Angell, E. Brigdale,
W. S. Craig, T. Madigan, Max
Smith, Evans (North Fremantle Branch)
A. Styles and J. Cameron (all of Mil-
lans' T. and T. Co., Per'th and branches),
D. Dewar (Claremont Horticultural Society),
J. A. Thomas (Thomas Bros.) G
B. Maisev (Town Clerk), T. Hill, Ross
R. J. Smith, B. Johnson, A. L. Hickey
and others. Many beautiful wreaths
from various bodies and friend s were
placed on 'the grave, and numerous letters,
telegrams, and cards of condolence
have been received by the bereaved
daughter. The funeral arrangements
were carried out by Messrs. Arthur E
Davie s and Co., of Fremantle and Clare-
mont.
