WICKHAM. —On the 22nd December, at his
residence, Wickham Park, after a lingering
illness, Benjamin Wickham, Esq., a colonist of
39 years standing (having arrived in the ship
Africaine, in the year 1836), aged 90 years.

85543DEATH OF A VETERAN.— In our funeral
notices is an announcement that Mr. Benjamin
Wickham, of Wickham Park, has joined the
great majority. The deceased gentleman,
besides being a pioneer colonist, having arrived
here in the ship Africaine in 1836, was a Penin
sular veteran, having fought under Wellington,
and received a wound at Badajoz. Mr. Wickham
has been in the receipt of a pension since his
retirement from active service. He was 90
years of age at the time of his decease, and was
the head of a family tree of five children, 30
grandchildren, and 45 greatgrandchildren.
