Mr. James Telford. a son of the !atc
Mr. and Mrs. James Telford; died at
Mount Gambier last week. He was born
at Strathalbyn 84 years ago, and when
quite a lad determined to seek his fortune,
in the South-East. With his young wife
he travelled to Mount Gambier by bullock
dray, the journey occupying three weeks,
For a number of years he worked with
his father, and then took up land at Red
Camp. Later he went to Apsley, then
to Mil Lel, and finally settled down there.
His wife was a daughter of Mr, Peter
Simpson, and died 11 years ago. The fol-
lowing family survives:— Messrs. William

(Yahl), James Telford (Mil Lel), Peter
Telford (Penola-road, Mount Gambier),
Thomas Telford (The Ridge, Penola-road),
and Mrs. Little (Mil Lel).
