CONTRACTING PARTIES.
On Thursday evening, January 25,
at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church,
Narracoorte, Elsie Jean
Rathke wed-
ded Lionel Eeith Kohlhagen, of Mait-
land (A.I.F., ret.)
Mr. H. O.
Rathke led his attractive
daughter to the altar gowned in a fig-
ured white magnolia satin frock, the
yoke being trimmed with sprays of
orange blossom, the skirt merging in-
to a long train. She wore a gorgeous
tulle veil with a head-dress of orange
blossom. A sheath of white flowers
and pink roses, made by Mrs. H.
Beaines, was also carried. Mrs.
Laurie Gericke was the bride's only
attendant as Matron of Honor, and
her ankle length frock of mauve was
finished with a short tulle veil and a
delightful sheath of mauve g ladioli
suiting admirably her fair complexion.
In a dainty frock of pink with a tiny
pink veil, Miss Heather Kahl acted as
train-bearer. Mr. Keith Hogan sup-
ported the bridegroom. The large
congregation was favoured with the
rendition of "The Crown," by Mr. Jno.
Gordon, and his effort was much ap
preciated, whilst the register was toe
ing signed. Miss Val. Hoole accom-
panied Mr. Gordon on the organ, and
Mrs. D. Fleming officiated at the or-
gan for the ceremony. Mr. and Mrs.
C. W. Kohlhagen, of Maitland, par-
ents of the bridegroom, were unable
to attend the wedding. Mr. H. O.
Rathke, supported by Mrs. Douglas,
of Edenhope, and his two sisters, Mrs.
Schumacher, of Adelaide, and Mrs.
Kerchner, of Murray Bridge, receiv-
ed and entertained some 50 guests at
the Golden Gate cafe, where the
toasts usual to a wedding reception
were honored, and a happy social time
was spent. The bride's father pre-
sented the newly-weds with a Chevro-
let utility truck. The honeymoon is
being spent in Adelaide. The Rev.
J. F. Hansen, who performed the
ceremony, was chairman at the recep-
tion Their future home will be at
North Kilkerran.
