Mr. Hugh Ross
Mr. Hugh Ross, who died recently at
Mundalla, was an old identity of the
Tatiara district. He was born 91 years
ago in the County of Ross, Scotland,
and was 25 years of age when he reached
Adelaide. His first job was on the
overland telegraph. After that he  
worked for 17 years on Padthaway sta-
tion for the late Mr. Robert Lawson.
After coming to the Tatiara he was
engaged for many years in council con
tract work. In 1895 be married Miss  
Edith Schreeder, only daughter of the
late Mr. and Mrs. August Schreeder, of
Hahndorf. Mrs. Ross died 12 years    
ago. Councillor A. Ross, Mundalla, is
a son, and Mrs. R. Golding, Mundalla,
a daughter. There are five grand  
children.
