dence. Mount Barker South, Edith May, beloved
wife of John A. R. Duffield, aged 44 years.
Peace, perfect peace.
The Mount Barker Courier and Onkaparinga and Gumeracha Advertiser (SA : 1880 - 1954) Friday 4 June 1920
93777MRS. J. DUFFIELD.
The funeral of the late Mrs. Edith May
Duffield, wife of Mr. J. Duffield, of Mount
Barker, who passed away on Saturday morn-
ing last, took place on Sunday last, at 3
p.m. The body was brought to Christ-
Church, Mount Barker, for the first part of
the service, during which favourite hymns
were sung, "Rock of Ages," and "Abide with
Me." The funeral procession was thence
resumed to the Mount Barker Cemetery. The
chief mourners were the bereaved husband,
(Mr. John Duffield), his daughter (Miss Con-
nie Duffield), and son (Mr. Gordon Duffield).
The bearers were Messrs T. and F. Raison,
A. Johnstone, and R. Rice, acting under the
superintendence of Mr, J.W. Walkom. Mr.
Duffield's co-workers from the tannery walked
in the procession to the grave side, and there,
in the presence of a very large gathering of
friends, the Rev. A. H. Reynolds, M.A., com-
peted the burial service. The Rechabite
body, of which deceased was perhaps the
oldest local member, was represented by Mr.
Fred Ellis, who read an oration after the
service. There were many beautiful wreaths.
The deceased lady had been ill for some time,
and had suffered greatly, and with patience.
She was highly respected, and had done much
work for her church and for patriotic objects.
There will be a Memorial Eucharist on Sun-
day next, at 11 a.m., at Christ Church
