Our obituary notices have recorded the
death of another old colonist, Mrs. C.
E, Tidemann, widow of Mr. Charles Ed-
ward Tidemann, auctioneer, and at one time
a member of the Adelaide City Council,
who passed away on Friday last at the
age of 78 years. The deceased was a
daughter of the late Mr. Redford Clisby,
who opened the first musical instrument
warehouse in Rundle-street. She was born
in London, and arrived in South Australia with
her parents in the ship Cheapside in
January, 1848. Mrs. Tidemann enjoyed
good health until the death of her sister,

Miss Clisby, about three months ago.
The deceased lady was of a kindly dispo-
sition, beloved by all, and will be sadly
missed. She was a member of the Wes-
leyan Methodist Church, when services
were held in Gawler-place. The deceased's
surviving relatives consist of a sister (Mrs.
E. Mumme, of Hurtle-square), brother
(Mr. Redford Clisby, of London), sons,
Messrs. George (of.G. Wills & Co.),
William (Adelaide Steamship Company
Limited), Alfred (A.M.P. Society), and
James (British Imperial Oil Company),
daughter, Mrs. W. K. Cathcart; also 21
grandchildren.
