100231 KILLED WHILE PLOUGHING.
Katanning, June 18.
Richard Shackley (80), farmer, residing
at Cartmeticup, 12 miles from Katanning,
met his death on Friday evening in a
tragic manner. He was ploughing when
his horses took fright and bolted, throw-
ing him on to the plough. He was drag-
ged a considerable distance before his son,
who witnessed the occurrence, coul
d stopthe team. He was still alive when ex-.tricated but succumbed to his injuries be-fore a doctor could arrive.
