MR. J. SNODGRASS
The death occurred on Wednesday at his
residence, "Forest Vale," Mangoplah of Mr.
James Snodgrass. He was born at Glas-
gow, Scotland, on May 4, 1841, and he ar-
rived in Australia with his parents in 1848.
They settled in South Australia where Mr.
Snodgrass met his first wife to whom he was
married in 1861. She was Miss Elizabeth
Ross, daughter of the late John Ross of
"Kinrossi" Holbrook. Mr. Snodgrass came
from South Australia to the Holbrook district
in 1875 and he selected at Mangoplah in
1881 and was successful . His second mar-
riage was in 1919 and his widow, Rachel
Elizabeth, survives him. as well as two sons,
Messrs James and John Alexander Ross
Snodgrass and one daughter, Mrs. Mary
Forrest Smyles. His sisters are Mrs. I.
Kelly, of Cambendoon and Mrs. Cross, of
Kamarah. The step-brothers are Messrs
Goorge Snodgrass of Merrygoen, Alan Snod-
grass of "Summerlie", Uranquinty and W.
R. Snodgrass of Trail Street, Wagga; while

the step sisters are Mesdames J. H. Ken-
dall of ''Miarb," the Rock, R. Bourne, of
Collingullen and I. Brown, of Bondi. Mr.
Snodgrass was a noted breeder and exhibitor
of stud sheep. The funeral leaves "Forest
Vale" at 2.30 today for the Presbyterian
cemetery, Cookardinia.
