pton,Somersetshire, England. She came toSouth Australia with her parents Mrand Mrs. James Clement Barter, at theage of 5 years, a sister and two brothers, the youngest (Charles Atlantic)was born during the voyage, two sisters, Harriet and Sarah, aged 9 and IIyears, remained in England with twoaunts. Mr. Barter was manager atthe brewery of Messrs. Simms & Hayter, Adelaide. Mrs. Skurray was anold resident of Gawler. Her husband,Mr. Thomas Henry Skurray, wasin business for many years, forover 50 years in the retail wine trade,and had a newspaper agency for 36years. Mrs. Skurray was of a retiringdisposition, and had a bright nature.Her brother. Mr. Clement Barter,kept the Saltia Hotel, near PortAugusta, for many years and hersister, Mrs. Arthur Skurray, died onlya few months ago at Cockatoo Valleyseven miles from Gawler). The surviving members of the family . areMisses E. G. and C. J- Skurray, GawlerSouth; and Mrs. W. T. Brereton,Jamestown; and Messrs. H. P. and W.B. Skurray. Gawler South: and J. C.Skurray. Jamestown. There are 10grandchildren and two great-grandchil-dren.
