MR. W. G. WARNOCK DEAD.

Mr. William Gordon Warnock (53).
of Dibbs Street, Adamstown, and
formerly of Broken Hill, died at New-
castle yesterday morning. For many
years Mr. Warnock lived in Broken
Hill and was employed at the Pro-
prietary mine as a pipe fitter. Dur-
ing one of the close-downs at the
mine, he went to Newcastle and was
employed in the Proprietary Com-
pany's steel works there.
He was an enthusiastic ambulance
worker at Newcastle and was at one
period chairman of the Board of
Trust. He also served a term as
Mayor of Adamstown.
Mr. Warnock is survived by a
widow, formerly Miss Ada Ridley,
of South Broken Hill, and one son,
Mr. Keith Warnock. His father, Mr.
Andrew Warnock, resides at 94 Pat-
ton Street, South Broken Hill.
While in Broken Hill Mr. Warnock
took an active part in friendly
society work, being associated with
the Manchester Unity Lodge. He
was prominent in the local branch of
the F.E.D. and F.A., and at one time
was an auditor. He also took an
interest in football having been as-
sociated with Souths, and was an
enthusiastic follower of pedestrianism.
The funeral took place at
Newcastle today.
