MR. W. G. WARNOCK DEAD.Mr. William Gordon Warnock (53).of Dibbs Street, Adamstown, andformerly of Broken Hill, died at New-castle yesterday morning. For manyyears Mr. Warnock lived in BrokenHill and was employed at the Pro-prietary mine as a pipe fitter. Dur-ing one of the close-downs at themine, he went to Newcastle and wasemployed in the Proprietary Com-pany's steel works there.He was an enthusiastic ambulanceworker at Newcastle and was at oneperiod chairman of the Board ofTrust. He also served a term asMayor of Adamstown.Mr. Warnock is survived by awidow, formerly Miss Ada Ridley,of South Broken Hill, and one son,Mr. Keith Warnock. His father, Mr.Andrew Warnock, resides at 94 Pat-ton Street, South Broken Hill.While in Broken Hill Mr. Warnocktook an active part in friendlysociety work, being associated withthe Manchester Unity Lodge. Hewas prominent in the local branch ofthe F.E.D. and F.A., and at one timewas an auditor. He also took aninterest in football having been as-sociated with Souths, and was anenthusiastic follower of pedestrianism.The funeral took place atNewcastle today.
