WEDDING.
OLDREY - HEINZEL
A wedding was celebrated at the
Baptist Church, Katanning, on Wed-
nesday last between Mr Harry S.
Oldrey, of Woodanilling, and Miss
Selma Heinzel, whose father resides
in South Australia. The Rev. W.
Kennedy, of Narrogin, officiated.
Mrs. Mark King presided at the piano.
The bride, who looked most attactive,
was given away by Mr C. F. Wanke.
She was attended by her sister, Miss
Hilda Heinzel, as bridesmaid, whilst
Mr J. A. Wanke, acted as best man.
A large number of friends were pre-
sent at the ceremony. At its con-
clusion the bridal party and a few
guests drove out to Mr Wanke's re-
sidence at Moojepin, where the wed-
ding breakfast was partaken of. The
excellent repast reflected the very
highest credit upon those who had
prepared it. The Rev. W. Kennedy
proposed the health of "The Bride
and Bridegroom." He echoed the
sentiments of all present when he
referred to the very high estimation
in which the happy couple were held
by all who knew them. Mr Oldrey
replied with great feeling, being con-
vinced he had secured the very best
wife imaginable. He promised to
faithfully, carry out the kindly in-
structions given to him. The toast of
"The Bridesmaid" was proposed; by
Messrs W. J.Rogers and H. F. Ran-
ferd. In responding, on behalf
Miss Heinzel, Mr J. F. Wanke ex-
pressed his devotion to the gentler
sex and his intention to speedily fol-
low the good example set that day.
Mr W. J. Rogers in an excellent
speech proposed the "Host and Host-
ess." Mr Wanke in reply stated how
pleased his wife and he were to see so
many of their friends enjoying them-
selves. He paid a high tribute to the
estimable qualities of the bride, whom
he had known from childhood. He also
spoke of the integrity and business
capabilities of the bridegroom, and
the respect in which they were both
held. A most enjoyable evening was
spent by those present, and when
supper was announced at 10p.m.
it was agreed the hours had
slipped away all too quickly. The
function being ended, the visitors re-
turned to Katanning, while Mr. and Mrs.
Oldrey drove to their new home
at Woodanilling.
On entering the church the bride
was dressed in cream voile with tucked
yoke and sleeves, with trimming of
guipure Lace and insertion. The
trained skirt had ruebed flounce and
yoke. She wore a veil of sprigged net
with coronet of orange blossoms.
The bridesmaid, Miss Hilda Heinzel,
was dressed in white silk, with cream
straw hat, trimined with velvet and a
wreath of marguerites.
