The death occurred recently of Mr.
Johann Gottlieb Thiele, at the age of 84
years. Mr. Thiele who was born near
Ambleside, was engaged in farming at
Mount Barker for a number of years, and
he then took up land near Palmer. Twelve
months' illness necessitated his selling his
farm, and he then removed into Palmer.
For 27 years he had lived at Stirling West.
and for the past fire rears he had been
living with his daughter, Mrs. A. Davis, of
the Robin Hood Hotel, Kensington. He
left three sons and six daugh-
ters and there arc 69 grand-
children and 23 great-grandchildren. His
children are:—Messrs. William Thiele, of
Hindmarsh; Herman Thiele, of Oakbank;
and Edward Thiele, of Parkside; and Mes-
dames B. Derby. of Torrensville; A. Davis,
T. Bollins, and T. Fry, all of Kensington;
and C. Bruce of Torrensville; and Miss
Lydia Thiele, of Kensington.
