Mrs. Emma Isabella Wolter.
Mrs. Emma Isabella Wolter, wife of
Capt. Wolter, of the Murray steamer Ar-
cadia, passed away at Goolwa, on January
2 last, in her sixty-eighth year.
She was born at Sheffield, Yorkshire, in
1848, and arrived in Australia in 1851. She
left Port Adelaide in 1867 for Hindmarsh
Island, and was married to Capt. Wolter
in 1871. The deceased always took keen
interest in the affairs of the Methodist
Church. She left Hindmarsh Island some
years ago, and had spent the remaining
years of her life in Goolwa. The hus-
band and six children survive. The latter
are—Mrs. John Colebatch (Echunga),
Messrs. Fred (Queensland), Herbert
(Goolwa), and W. Wolter, and Misses W.
E. and R. Wolter.
