Mr. Daniel Le Poidevin, aged 92 years,died at the residence of his son-in-law, Mr.John McCloud, Glen Bank, on Wednesday.Mr. Le Poidevin was a native of Guernseyand came to South Australia 68 years ago.After working as a carpenter on severalpublic buildings in Adelaide he settled atMorphett Vale, where he farmed formany years. Mr. Le Poidevin had excit-ing experiences on the way to the Bendigogold digging in the fifties. His party spent£136 on equipment, and started on their500 mile journey with aboriginal guides,who deserted at a critical period. Thecompany arrived at Forest Creek aftertravelling for five weeks, and Mr Le Poide-vin built a store at the camp, while hiscompanions prospected. Later the wholeparty went on to Bendigo, where they re-mained for some time. There aro threesons and four daughters, about 30 grand-children, and 30 great-grandchildren.
