JAEGERThe death of Mr. John AugustJaeger, of "Thornleigh," The Rock(as was briefly reported on Wednes-day), which took place In Melbourneon Monday evening, came as a shockto most people of The Rock and dis-trict as he had only been laid upfor a week. Mr. Jaeger had residedIn The Rock district for just on 40years. He was well known andhighly respected, and was also a goodchurchman, being a member of theMethodist Church at The Rock andalso at Mangoplah. The body wasplaced In the church at The Rockand the funeral took place yester-day morning. leaving the church at10 o'clock for The Rock cemeteryThere was a large cortege, manyfriends meetlng at the church andalso at the cemetery to pay theirlast respects to the deceased. TheRev F. N. Pagdin of Lockhart helda service in the church and alsoofficiated at the graveside and spokeIn very high terms of the life thedeceased had lived. The casket wascarried by three sons, Ernie (AIF),Victor and Alf. Roy Condon (son-in-law) and James and Les Michael(neighbors). The floral tray was inthe care of Messrs. C. Condon, D.Klimpsch, Reg Goldsmith and W. H.Kendall, all close friends of the de-ceased. Among the many wreathswas one frome The Rock MethodistChurch Aid Society. The chiefmourners at the graveside besidesthose mentioned above were the be-reaved widow (Mrs. Jaeger), twodaughters, Thelma (Mrs. R. Condon)and Miss Elsie Jaeger of The Rockand Mrs. W. Schultz (sister), ofWagga. The funeral arrangementswere carried out by Messrs. W. G.Aipps and Sons, of Fitzroy and W.H. Magrath, of The Rock.
