WEDDING BELLS

FARQUHAR—CAMENS
A very pretty wedding took place
at St. Lawrence's church, North Ade
laide, on 26th ult., when Jean, eldest
daughter of Mr. A. and the late Mrs.
Camens, of Charleston, was married
to Vincent, son of Mr. and Mrs, Far
quhar, of Woodside.
The bride, who entered the church
on the arm of her father, wore
white satin frock with a V neck-line
and true lover's knots appliqued and
beaded at the waistline and on the
train. A coronet of orange blossom
held in place the lovely veil which
was edged with silver lace and lent
by Mrs. L. B. Pfeiffer, of Woodside.
She carried a prayer book with trails
of myrtle which was used by her late
grandmother at her wedding.
Misses Eleanor and Beryl Camens,
the bride's sisters, were bridesmaids,
and were frocked in blue and pink
respectively. Of British crepe their
frocks featured low waist-lines, with
skirts slightly gathered and bodices
shirred up the centre front on to a
hand-designed rouleoux yoke. Their
head-dresses consisted of a band of
pink and blue flowers from which
hung a shoulder length veil and they
carried shower bouquets of pink and
blue flowers. A charming little flower
girl was Janet Gurr, of Charleston,
who wore a frock of pink pin-spotted
net over pink crepe-de-chene. The
skirt was full and gathered and tiny
bows trimmed the skirt, bodice and
sleeves. She wore a P'nk poke-bon
net and carried a Victorian posy of
pink and blue flowers.
Best man was Mr. C. Mueller, of
Lobethal, and the bride's brother, Mr
B. Camens, was groomsman. During
the signing of the register Miss Bet
ty Syvertsen, cousin of the bride,
sang Ave Maria. As the bride left
the church four lucky horseshoes
were hung on her arm. The recep
tion was held at Arcadia where 60
puests were present and an enjoyable
evening was spent. Mr. L. B. Pfeif
fer acted as M.C. and the usual toasts
were honored. Musical items were
given by Mrs. Gurr, pianoforte solos,
and Miss B. 'Syvertsen who sang
"My Hero" and "Because." Many
congratulatory telegrams were re
ceived. The beautiful wedding cake,
which was made and iced by an old
friend of the bride's family, was cut
by the bride and groom. The bride
travelled in a pink, low-waisted frock
with a fully pleated skirt and navy
accessories. Their future home will
be at Nairne.
