Only a day after his 89th birth
day, Mr. Johann Gottfried Schubert,
'Alma Ville,' Baranduda, near Wo
donga, died on Friday. For. 66 years
he had resided in the Wodonga dis-
trict, during which time he became
very well-known. Besides his widow,
he leaves three daughters, Mrs. J.
Puddephatt (Osborne's Flat), Mrs.
Miller (Baranduda) and Mrs. Greschke
(Tumbarumba), and one son, Johann
Gottfried (Baranduda). Two- sons, Al-
fred and Albert, predeceased him.
Burial took place in Wodonga ceme-
tery on Saturday. There was an ex
ceptionally large- cortege, over 100
cars being in the funeral procession.
A service at Mr. Schubert's home, and
at the graveside, was conducted by
Rev. J. Stolz, Walla.
