Another link with the pioneer days
of the Pinnaroo district was severed
last week when the death was
announced in Adelaide of Mr. Carl
Friedrich Lehmann. The deceased
was a highly respected resident of
these parts during the past 36
years. He was a hard working pioneer
of the district and saw Pinnaroo deve
lop from a small beginning to what it
is today . He saw the country at its
height of prosperity as also in the
latter period of leaner years.
Health and vigour attended the
deceased for almost the whole of his
life. During the Christmas of 1940
■he became for the first time in his
days the inmate of a hospital. His
illness kept him' in the Pinnaroo Dis T
trict hospital for two months, after
iwhich he had recovered sufficiently
to allow him to return to his home.
After renewed attacks, however, he
was tsken on 13th October to the:
Adelaide hospital, where after two
weeks he died. He attained the age
of 71 years.
