Mr. Kenneth McPherson died at his
home at Gumbowie. hundred of Yon-
gala, on December 17, in his 66th year.
He was born on the old Saltia station,
near Port Augusta,- which his father
was managing for the late Mr. J. J.
Swinden. When the station was sold
he removed to Alma Plains. At the
age of 19 be went to the hundred of
Ninnes. which was then being opened
up, and after working on shares with
the Ninnes Land Company, secured
a small holding which be gradually in
creased. He sold out in 1903, and went
to the north, where be engaged In
stock-raising and dealing. He studied
veterinary work under the late Dr
Dobson, of Kadina and his services
were at all times available gratis to
owners of sick stock. He was a mem-
ber of the Yongala District Council
for some years. He was on the Peter-
borough Hospital Board. A widow and
two sons. Harold and Allan, of Iron
Knob and Gumbowie survive. Mr M.
McPherson. of Bute, is a brother, and
a sister, Mrs. H. Paynter resides at
Cottesloe, W.A.
