Mr. Archibald John Kenneth
McVicar (58), who died on Novem
ber 29, was a native of Red Hill.
As a young man he went to Port
Pirie and was employed at the
Smelters. In 1916 he enlisted for
overseas service in the Great War
with the 10th Machine Gun Com-
pany, and returned to Australia
after the armistice. He was
wounded. In 1919 he married Miss
Sachse, of Yongala, and again
settled at Port Pirie. He left a
widow and five children, the eldest
17 years and the youngest two and
a half.
