OBITUARY.
A painfully sudden death, occurred at
George's Creek, seven miles from Tallan
gatta on Monday evening, the victim
being Mrs Augusta Langheim, wife of
Mr Herman Langheim, a well known
settler. Mrs Langheim was in her usual
health on Monday afternoon, when she
went out for a walk with her little son.
About dusk she was nearing home, and,
when in the paddock on the opposite side
of the road from her house she became
suddenly ill. She called out to her hus-
band and stepson who were working in
the house paddock. Both hurried across
to Mrs Langheim, whom they found to
be suffering great pain in the head. Mrs
Langheim was assisted home, when she
quickly became worse, so much so that
she had to be carried to her bed. The
stepson posted to Tallangatta for medi-
cal aid and Dr Salts promptly responded
to the call. 'The doctor found the patient
in a bad way and held out little hope of
her living through the night. The poor
woman passed away at about 10.30 p.m.
The cause of death was cerebral apo-
plexy. Deceased was 42 years of age,
and was much liked by all her friends
and acquaintances. She was a native of
Wodonga being a daughter of Mr Fer-
dinand Haeusler, of that place. She was
married to Mr Langheim about five years
ago, being his deceased wife's sister,
and leaves one child, a toddler of two
years. Mr Langheim is heartily con-
doled with in being bereft of his help
meet so suddenly and in such saddening
circumstances. The interment took
place on Wednesday in the Presbyterian
portion of the Tallangatta cemetery, in
the presence of a large number of rela-
tives and acquaintances. The
burial service was read by the Rev. W.
Ingram. "Herald"
