11996Mr. L. Schnttloffel
Mr. Leopold Schuttloffel, 63, who
died at Quorn on September 16, was
born at Hoyleton. At the age of 11 he
Went north with his parents, who
took up farming near Quorn. In 1896
he went to Western Australia, where
he worked at Kalgoorlie for twelve
months as an engine cleaner. He re
turned to South Australia, and on Sep
tember 1 1897, married Caroline Eliza-
beth Brooks, eldest daughter of the
late Mr. Andrew and Mrs. Brooks of
Hammond. He took up share farm-
ing, -and later worked: in conjunction
with the late Mr. Poster. M.H.R. In
1912. he bought a farm at Wyacca, on
which he lived until his death. In
1936 he purchased a farm at Bruce
Rock, Western Australia, where his
sons, Bert and Edwin, are working.
His other son. Horace, stayed with his
father at Wyacca. He left a widow
and seven children— Mrs. C. Stacey
(Quorn), Mrs. T. L. French (Quorn).
Mrs. C. R. Thompson (Torrensville),
and Miss Lyla Schuttloffel. and Ed
win, Bert and Horace.
